The Club Licensing Department of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has released the results of its re-inspection of match venues for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season. The assessment, which falls under the Category 3 requirements of the GFA Enhanced Safety and Security Protocols 2025, classified venues into approved, conditionally approved, and unapproved categories.
Fully Approved Venues
Five venues received full approval to host all Category 3 matches, including:
- Dr. Kwame Kyei Sports Complex
- Dun’s Park, Bibiani
- Nsenkeyire Sports Arena
- Kpando Sports Stadium
- TNA Park, Tarkwa
Conditionally Approved Venues
Several venues were granted conditional approval, with a mandatory re-inspection scheduled for March 9, 2025:
- Nii Adjei Kraku II Park
- Tuba Astro Turf
- Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium
- Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park
- Nana Agyemang Badu Park
Unapproved And Safety Concerns
Two venues, Baba Yara Sports Stadium and University of Ghana Stadium, were flagged for safety and security concerns, requiring clubs to fix designated safe zones before hosting official matches. It is also important to note that these two facilities are used by Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak respectively.
Meanwhile, three venues were unapproved due to safety and technical issues:
- Berekum Golden City Park
- Wenchi Town Park
- AAK II Sports Arena
These venues must address concerns before the next inspection on March 9, 2025.
