Exciting updates ahead! If you’re into finding new talent and vibing with some really off-the-box beats, then you’re going to love what Smoove Network has been cooking. Smoove Network is all about breaking new ground and nurturing emerging talent. Their latest initiative focuses on music collaborations, providing a platform for new artists to shine and achieve new heights.
And speaking of collaborations, they’ve just dropped their debut single “Oh Lord!” featuring none other than Romeo Swag. This track, produced by the talented 3nity, is now available for streaming. 3nity, also known as Frederick Bossman, is a driving force in Ghana’s music scene, known for blending traditional Ghanaian rhythms with cutting-edge beats. He’s worked on songs such as Djay’s “Joy” featuring Black Sherif and “19 years” by Yhaw Hero.
Now, on Romeo Swag: this guy is a jack of all trades, seriously. His actual name is Romeo Tevie, and he is a Ghanaian musician, songwriter, performer, video editor, and get this: a biochemist. Born and raised in Mamprobi, a community in Accra, Romeo Swag has this great flair for fusing many genres and coming out with something so soundly unique.
The exposure from the strong musical culture around him gave him an early jump on his musical journey—Romeola. He’s got the brains to go with the beats, too. He studied Biochemistry, Cell, and Molecular Biology at the University of Ghana. That makes him a multi-talented artist.
Last year, on November 18, 2023, Romeo Swag organized the second edition of his show, In Tha Dunmli 2.0, and it was a hit! He’s also made waves performing with some of Ghana’s top artists. He won the Manifestive Challenge, which landed him a spot to perform with Manifest at the high-profile event, Manifestivities. And he didn’t stop there—he also performed at Black Sherif’s Zaama Disco last year.
Romeo Swag’s discography is pretty impressive. Some of his standout tracks include Bombay, Amenley, Letter from Mamprobi 2, Diamonds, Too sure and Dreamer’s interlude.
On every one of the tracks, he keeps his audience on the hook, blending a number of styles of music to let his versatility show. So, “Oh Lord!” is out now. Be sure to check it out. If you haven’t heard his music yet, now is the time. Y3 fastttt!
Also, a big kudos to Smoove Network for continuing to support and promote such incredible talent. Here’s to many more years of creativity and collaboration!
