WhatsApp channel is a new feature that allows you to create and follow channels on WhatsApp. A channel is a one-way broadcast tool for admins to send text, photos, videos, stickers, and polls to their followers. You can follow channels that interest you, such as hobbies, sports teams, updates from local officials, and more. You can also create your own channel to share updates and connect with your followers directly through WhatsApp.
To access WhatsApp feature channel, you need to have the latest version of WhatsApp installed on your phone. You also need to join the waitlist to be notified when WhatsApp feature channel is available to you. You can find the waitlist in the Settings > Channels menu. Once you are eligible, you will see a new tab called Updates on WhatsApp, where you can find Status and channels you choose to follow. You can also search for channels in the directory or follow invite links sent in chats, e-mail, or posted online.
WhatsApp feature channel is designed to be simple, reliable, and private. Your phone number and profile photo won’t be shown to the channel admins or other followers. Likewise, following a channel won’t reveal your phone number to the admin or other followers. Who you decide to follow is your choice and it’s private. You can also delete channel updates from your device at any time.
