The iPhone 15 releases in a month and the fandom is going crazy!
We understand why. It’s not every day another 3-lensed handheld technological thing of beauty is placed on the market—it’s every 298 days (according to MacRumors). Admittedly, though, the hype is not unlike we’ve lived through a million times before.
The iPhone has come a long way since it was introduced to the world back in 2007. It was and still is revolutionary, as it changed what a cell phone could be. It was like nothing we'd ever seen before, introducing this mind-blowing thing called "multi-touch", making it the first-ever commercially successful smartphone to utilize touchscreen technology in a world that was studded with flip phones and blocky tiny-display cellphones. And since the entire world seems to agree that fewer buttons means greater convenience and better design, Apple Inc. has over the years come out with upgrades to the first model, improving aesthetics and user friendliness, famously doing away with the iconic home button starting with 2016’s iPhone 7.
With Apple gearing up to unveil their latest and greatest flagship smartphone, you can expect that a few insiders have let us in on a few secrets as to what to expect from the new line of devices, although on an official front, word hasn’t been out yet. Staying true to the trend that has been for the past few years, the iPhone 15 band of brothers is going to include the iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max (or iPhone 15 Ultra) and, of course, the iPhone 15.
What's Cooking with iPhone 15's Features?
Rumor has it that the iPhone 15 is bringing a whole party of features to the tech table. Picture this: better-than-ever camera tech, turbo-charged processor performance, battery life that won't bail on you mid-selfie, and a display quality that's like eye candy. Plus, we might just get some juicy advancements in how we connect with the world. Stay tuned, folks!
If the rumors are to be believed, next month’s new line of iPhones are going to boast 6 GB of RAM and at least 128 GB of ROM. The iPhone 15s are likely also going to have the same chipset as last year’s batch of iPhones.
The core screen specs of the upcoming iPhone are likely to stay pretty familiar. Picture a 6.1-inch OLED display that's rumored to rock a snazzy 1179 x 2556 resolution. And don't worry, you're still getting your smooth scrolling fix – it's set for a 60Hz refresh rate. But here's the twist – say goodbye to the notch and wave hello to a Dynamic Island this time around. Yep, Apple's shaking things up and giving you a display that's all screen and no pesky notch!
Now, let's talk juice. While the battery deets have been keeping a low profile, it's safe to say it's looking like a déjà vu from last year – expect something close to 3,279mAh. But wait, here comes the plot twist – Apple seems to be making a major shift from Lightning to USB-C for charging. That's right, the familiar Lightning connector might be taking a backseat this time. Get ready for a fresher, zippier charging experience that's about to be all USB-C and no more Lightning hassle!
Say cheese to upgraded cameras. Because let’s face it: that’s what most of us are here for. The camera game might just get a boost with the iPhone's lens lineup, while providing longevity to the trend of the triple-lens camera system that’s been here since the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max versions in 2019. Say farewell to the 12MP main sensor and say hello to a beefy 48MP main sensor, straight from the iPhone 14 Pro family. Oh, and the party doesn't stop there – your ultra-wide and selfie cameras are keeping their cool 12MP resolution. So, whether you're capturing wide vistas or striking selfies, you're in for an upgrade that'll make your shots pop like never before. Time to get snap-happy!
The pricing news floating around the internet is just as exciting!
Everybody loves the sometimes understandably overpriced spectacle that is the iPhone. When the iPhone 14 launch was looming, similar rumors had surfaced suggesting Apple's intention to boost prices by $100 for the Pro and Pro Max versions and introduce the iPhone 14 Plus at $899. While the iPhone 14 Plus expectation indeed materialized, the anticipated price jump for the Pro models did not come to fruition. If we were to envision the iPhone 15 lineup with that envisaged price increase, it would roll out as follows: the iPhone 15 Pro Max at $1,199, the iPhone 15 Pro at $1,099, the iPhone 15 Plus at $899, and the standard iPhone 15 at $799.
That’s a rap, tech lovers.
D-Day is only days away, and we can only get the whole facts from the Apple’s own mouth. Until September this year, we’re just going to have to wait speculatively for the grand release, which is a lot harder to do than we’d like to admit.
