Arsenal swept aside the Dutch champions in Eindhoven, as Real Madrid hurts Athletico Madrid in Champions League first leg with Dortmund being held at home by Lille.
Arsenal have recorded their biggest away win in the champions league as they demolished Dutch champions PSV in their own back yard.
Jurrien Timber headed the Gunners in front from close range at the far post. Ethan Nwaneri soon doubled the lead, smashing home his fellow youth graduate Myles Lewis-Skelly’s cross.
Mikel Merino, who has been inverted into a striker, extended Arsenal's advantage after winning the ball inside the penalty area before slotting calmly into the corner.
PSV pulled one back through Noa Lang's penalty, and ended the half with the momentum.
The second half started with a rapid double from Martin Odegaard and Leandro Trossard within minutes of the restart, Odegaard added his second and Arsenal's sixth from long range then set up Riccardo Calafiori for a magnificent seventh on a record-breaking night.
It was a stunning capital derby at the Bernabeu between rivals Real Madrid and Athletico Madrid.
Real had a dream start when Rodrygo scored a fine opener four minutes after kickoff, until world cup winner, Julian Alvarez equalised with a stunning strike in the 32nd minute.
Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz, who replaced Jude Bellingham in the starting eleven, scored a second-half winner as the hosts edged out neighbours Atletico Madrid 2-1 in a scrappy first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
Borussia Dortmund were held by Lille in their home leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 tie after a thunderous first-half strike from Karim Adeyemi was cancelled midway in the second half by Haraldsson.
Dortmund sat back to try and soak up the pressure by Lille after scoring early and pounce on the break, but were unable to prevent Lille slicing them open midway through the secind half with a swift attack that saw Hákon Haraldsson slide the ball past Gregor Kobel to level. The tie is delicately poised heading into next Wednesday's second leg in France.
Today's last 16 games are as follows:
• Feyenoord vs Inter
• Bayern Munich vs Leverkusen
• Benfica vs Barcelona
• PSG vs Liverpool
